I want to understand people

and build things that they need.

Opening a dialogue with customers is what I do for a living. Currently, I’m a UX Researcher at Stash. I spearhead talking to our users about how investing plays part in their finances (if it does at all), and how they feel about preparing for their financial future.

When I run into someone, I go, “ope!” because the Midwest trained me that way. I earned my Masters degree in HCI & Social Computing in 2016 from a badass program at the University of Michigan. I have also just recently curbed my impulse to greet people in elevators (which, apparently, is not cool in this city).

On a personal note, I’m interested in film, television, typography, photography, video games, and relevant pop culture. I can also bake a crazy good batch of blueberry scones — if you even drop one hint, I will bring them the next time we meet. (Try me, I dare you)

obligatory fun facts about me!

  • Marlene Dietrich died two weeks before I was born, therefore my parents named me “Lili Marlene”
  • My dogs (technically my parent’s dogs but we’ll ignore that) are named Lola and Tootsie. Yes, we call her Toots.
  • I have traveled to various countries in Europe, Latin America, and Africa, so it makes sense that I worked for an online travel agency
  • Once I had a 10 minute long conversation with Janeane Garofolo about donuts and couldn’t believe it was her until after the fact because she still looks like she did in Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion
  • I purchased a life-sized papier-mâché skeleton. I have lovingly named him Santiago and he is Stash’s current office mascot
